More spring birding

Made it out to the Bowdoin Wildlife Refuge this weekend and did some bird watching and general sight-seeing. Here's a few pictures from the trip.

These last two are from my area. This is an old piece of farm machinery I've wondered about for a while. Best I can figure out, it was used to pack and weigh bales of wool from sheep.

Found this pair of young foxes peeking out of their den one morning.

Spring pictures

Just a bunch of random pictures of things that catch my eye as I get around. We are covered up in waterfowl and shorebirds right now. All the winter snow and spring rains have filled all the potholes, and every one has ducks on it. Lots of other spring birds and animals out now too.

Lost and Found

It seems we've misplaced spring up here. Has anyone seen it? It never got above zero today, wind chills in the -30 degree range, and light snow all day. The picture below is the official back porch low from last night.

If you see spring around anywhere, please send it this way!
